My travel experience to Montenegro!
Like many of you, I was also not aware of the beauty of Montenegro. It is less popular than other European countries, and that is why it was easier for me to book flights and accommodations here. It is never swarmed with tourists and has a medieval touch to it.
The country is loved for its mountains, luxurious beach resorts, and is the favorite among winter sports enthusiasts. It also is home to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Bay of Kotor. All the locals that I talked with, mentioned that most foreigners come to Montenegro only to see the Bay of Kotor.
I started my adventure with its capital, Podgorica. By the looks of it, Podgorica seemed to be picking on the modern trend. The streets were vibrant and filled with street vendors and young kids playing around.
Many people wonder about the best time to visit Montenegro. The answer to this question is simple. Every season is best in its aspect. Every season brings out a different side of Montenegro. The climate tends to shift from destination to destination.
If you wish to relax under the sun with a drink in your hand, then visit the southern coastline. The climate is highly inspired by the Mediterranean and tends to stay warm and slightly dry in summers. The winters do not get much cold but do receive huge rainfall.
The more you go towards the northern areas tend the colder it tends to get. The northern peaks of the country are perfect locations for indulging in winter sports.
Similarly, the center of the country enjoys a continental climate. Podgorica, its capital sits at the heart of the city and thus has a continental climate throughout the year.
The Unesco World Heritage protected site, Kotor Town is a must-visit destination in Montenegro. You will get a glimpse of the mysterious medieval period in the thick walls and architecture in the town. Do make it a point to see churches, archaeological sites, and palaces in Montenegro.
It will not be called a trip to Montenegro until you visit St. Typhon’s Cathedral. It is a sight to behold.
As much as I love to travel, I hate the whole procedure of booking flights and then having to keep updating the flight status.
